torque is multiplied thru a 5-speed con-
stant-mesh gearbox; 23 HP at 7500 rpm
gives a maximum velocity of 80-85 mph
while clocking 16.1 seconds for the

All this performance is controlled by
internal expanding brakes, with two
leading shoes in front. Comfort and
cornering control are assured by the
oil-dampened telescopic front fork and
rear trailing arm suspension.
Available in candy red or blue as well
as jet black. Fender striping, chrome
chain-guard and speedo/tach combina-
tion are all available as dealer-installed
extra - cost options.
The Invader is expected in dealer
showrooms for Spring delivery.
INSPIRED by the X-6 Hustler, which holds
the world’s speed record for 250cc produc-
tion class motorcycles (set at Bonneville
Salt Flats in Utah in 1966), Suzuki have
announced this slightly smaller version —
the X-5 Invader, a 200cc twin-cylinder two-
